Richard from Chris Edge Tree Care has now finished preparing the ground and then sowing the Yellow Rattle wildflower seeds. We had the ground mowed originally, then when Richard came with his team he raked up the loose cuttings and again cut where the grass had formed clumps and laid flat. He again went over the ground cutting the grass even lower then scarified the ground. Finally he sowed the seeds and the ground was compacted.
The field will remain closed for the foreseeable future and it would be appreciated if visitors did NOT climb over the gates and disturb the ground.
Next Spring we hope to see the fruits of his labours and display photographs on this web site. Also pleased to see results will be some local residents who have made generous donations towards the cost of the work.
