NCS - The Challenge

In September 2015 we were joined by 12 members of the NCS The Challenge which aims to bring together young people from all different backgrounds in a common purpose. Offering new experiences it gives them the chance to take on new challenges, learn new skills and meet new people. This helps discover their own talents and realise their potential whilst having fun. See http://www.ncsthechallenge.org/

They joined with Rye Meadows volunteers to cut back the invasive blackthorn alongside the Rye Brook. They all worked incredibly hard and all seemed to enjoy the day outside in the sunshine doing some hard physical work. Go to the Photo Gallery to see photos of the day.

We had hoped to welcome NCS The Challenge back in 2016 with a new group of young people and a new challenge - perhaps in the river getting their feet wet! Unfortunately a set of circumstances and holidays meant we had insufficient volunteers to supervise them and we therefore had to cancel.

It is hoped that either later this year or next year we will be able to have them back again.
